A Heroine's Journey by the

Indy Women's Clay Group, 2017

ArtsPark, Indianapolis Art Center

A Heroine's Journey is an installation of clay figurines based on the 3 main stages of a heroic journey described in Joseph Campbell's book, The Hero With A Thousand Faces. Unwilling to cast ourselves as the sidekick to the dominating male hero narrative the Indy Women's Clay Group, an Artist Team of 11 female ceramicists, presented 3 acts of their own heroic journey in 33 clay figurines mounted onto copper posts, ranging in height from 4-7 feet. - Peggy Breidenbach, Member IWCG
